Physics:  Explain what energy is and the differences between kinetic and potential energy.

Earth Science:  What things are you learning from the Web Soil Survey.  What uses do you see for it?

Botany: Describe 3 ways that plants "communicate" with each other or the organisms around them.

Biology:  Explain 5 things that you have learned from our last unit (the info I gave you to review!)

A and P:  What do you know about your nervous system, explain at least 3 things.

Med Tech:  How does a CT differ from an Xray, how are they the same?  Use google to help you if needed.

Physics:  Explain the different meanings of the word work that you can think of.  How do these compare with the one in our book on p 154.

Earth Science:  Explain how the conditions below the surface differ from those at the surface and how this affects rocks.

Botany:  Give an overview of the process of photosynthesis, also write the chemical equation that occurs.

Biology:  Explain each of the 4 phases of mitosis.  What major event occurs in each stage?

A and P:  Describe the 4 types of muscle contractions discussed on p 169 as well as the 3 types of fatigue.

Medical Tech:  Describe 3 things that you have learned about xrays that would help you in the career of your choice.

Physics:  Explain the relationship between tires and friction.  Also explain how tires are designed to provide extra "grip" in the rain and snow.

Earth Science:  Explain each of the 5 causes of physical weathering in rocks.

Botany:  What is the difference between active transport and passive transport?  Also, explain the terms diffusion and osmosis.

Biology:  Explain the difference between mitosis and cytokinesis.

A and P:  Briefly explain the 4 steps of sarcomere shortening (aka muscle contraction) outlined on p 165.

Biology:  Explain the 4 main stages of the cell cycle, found on p 126.

A and P:  Explain why nerve supply is essential to skeletal muscles.  Also, explain each of the following terms:  motor neuron, synapse (neuromuscular junction), motor unit, neurotransmitter.

Med Tech:  What is the procedure for performing an xray on a patient?  Explain it as if you were talking to a patient who needs an xray of the chest.  Try to be a specific as possible.

Botany:  Explain how the existence of potatoes as a monoculture has in the past as well as today presented a major problem to those who depend on them for food and to make a living.

Earth Science:  Explain what you know, or what you can find quickly about the theory of plate tectonics.

Physics:  A box of books weighing 319N is shoved across the floor by a force of 485N exerted downward at an angle of 35 degrees below the horizontal.  If uk between the box and the floor is .57, how long does it take to move the box 4.00m, starting from rest?

Botany:  How have humans basically created a useless commodity in flowers?  What is the cause of the colors in tulips?

Earth Science:  Locate a minerals map of the world using google.  Determine the locations of 5 different minerals mined around the world.

Botany:  Identify the difference between the three types of meristems found in plants.

Biology:  Explain the functions of 5 of the cell organelles found in your book in chapter 3.

A and P:  Give the name and location of 5 bones in your body.  Give one other feature you might know about each.

Medical Tech:  Write a short case study about a patient who has come into your office with a nervous or digestive system disorder using the terms you have learned.

Physics:  A man goes for a run. He begins by running 5 km at 30 degrees E of North, then he heads for another 8 km at 20 degrees S of East.  What is his resultant displacement from his starting point?

Earth Science:  Explain as much as you can about what a rock and mineral are.  Be sure to include the difference between the two.  Use google as a resource if needed.

Botany:  Determine the function of each of the following organelles/structures inside a plant cell: plasma membrane, nucleus,
endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes, dictyosomes, plastids, mitochondria, microbodies, vacuoles, and cytoskeleton.
